Criminal Negligence? Iran Determined To Bring Culpable Individuals To Justice For Accidental Plane Downing

TEHRAN, Jan. 11 (MNA) – In a statement on Sunday, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran to continue investigations to identify the possible culpabilities of the tragic unintentional shot of the Ukrainian passenger plane and taking required measures to avert similar incidents.

“The results achieved from the conducted investigations by General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran about the mistaken downing of the Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) flight, besides the probed ‘human error’ as the main cause of the accident, made my grief deeper,” the Leader said.

“It is essential for me to initially announce my condolences with the families of those killed in the incident and then to issue an order to the General Staff of the Armed Forces for conducting follow up research to designate the probable culpabilities of the disastrous accident,” he added.

“Third, I urge the affiliated organizations and managers to take necessary measures to avert similar accidents to occur in future,” he underlined.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that the cause of the Ukrainian passenger plane crash near Tehran has been “human error” in an air defense base, which happened amid missile strikes against US military base and considering the possibility of a military action in the accident

All 176 people on the Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) flight died in the crash this week just after take-off from Tehran on a flight to Kiev.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces said those responsible for shooting down the passenger jet would “immediately” be brought before military justice.

Running Scared: Trump Threatens Iraq with “Great Big Sanctions” if Forced to Abandon Air base

Filed under: attack, iran, iraq, POLITCS, usa, war — Tag:, , , , , , — mirabilissimo100 @ 2:48 pm

6 JANUARY 2020
Trump threatens to use US base in Iraq to bomb Baghdad, destroy Iraq’s oil production….sources

First Turkey, then Iraq and next Qatar, America is being thrown out of the Middle East…time to make more aircraft carriers…after all, protecting and ferrying ISIS around…and stealing oil is hard work.

The story below, in the Russian press, is fairly inaccurate and filled with vignettes of Trump and Israel ass kissing…as usual.

RT/Moscow: Iraq should brace for sanctions that will make the ones placed on Iran look weak in comparison if it kicks out the US troops without first covering the costs for an airbase, US President Donald Trump said.

“We have a very extraordinarily expensive air base that’s there. It cost billions of dollars to build, long before my time. We’re not leaving unless they pay us back for it,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday.

The punitive measures that the US is ready to slap on its supposed ally in the fight against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) will be even harsher than the crippling sanctions already in effect against Tehran, the president said.

Trump’s warning to Iraq comes after Iraqi MPs passed a resolution, championed by the country’s caretaker prime minister, asking the Iraqi government to expel foreign troops by cancelling a request for military assistance from the US-led coalition.

The resolution, adopted earlier on Sunday, envisions that some foreign troops might stay in Iraq for training purposes, but the number of foreign instructors deemed necessary should be reported back by the Iraqi authorities.

‘We are not allowed to touch Iran’s cultural sites? It doesn’t work that way’

Trump also doubled down on his threat to wipe out Iranian cultural sites in retaliation for potential future attacks from Tehran, which has vowed to avenge the assassination of its top general, Qassem Soleimani, by the US.

Accusing Iran of “torturing” and “maiming” American soldiers in suicide attacks and by planting roadside bombs, Trump hinted that attacks on US troops justify potential war crimes – the destruction of a nation’s cultural heritage.

“They’re allowed to kill our people. They’re allowed to torture and maim our people. They’re allowed to use roadside bombs and blow up our people. And we’re not allowed to touch their cultural sites? It doesn’t work that way.”

Trump’s statement on Saturday that the US might fire upon 52 sites that are important to Iran’s people and culture has courted controversy in the US, with many of the Trump administration’s critics noting that Washington would mimic the methods of its declared adversary, Islamic State – which is notorious for damaging and destroying globally-significant cultural sites in Syria and Iraq.

Tensions between the US and Iran have been mounting ever since a series of US airstrikes against the Shia Kataib Hezbollah militia in Syria and Iraq on December 29 killed at least 25 fighters, triggering a siege of the US Embassy in Baghdad that saw demonstrators chanting “death to America” and setting checkpoints on fire. The US blamed the showdown at its diplomatic compound on Tehran and its “proxies.” On Thursday, the US launched a drone strike at a convoy travelling near Baghdad International Airport, killing Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Qassem Soleimani, along with senior Iraqi militia leaders.

The murder of Soleimani, who played a key role in the fight against IS in Syria and Iraq, has drawn outrage across Iran and Iraq, with Tehran vowing to avenge the assassination, calling it “an act of international terrorism.” Washington, meanwhile, insists that Soleimani was the mastermind behind a spate of attacks on American personnel, including at the US Embassy, and says he was plotting new assaults.

3 JANUARY 2020

“There is no crime America will not commit in order to maintain its political, economic, cultural, and military domination of those parts of the world where it predominates.”

The Satanists who literally created chaos in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria are now applauding Donald Trump for assassinating Iranian Major General Qassem Soleimani. Ethnic cleanser and warmonger John Bolton has recently said:

“Congratulations to all involved in eliminating Qassem Soleimani.  Long in the making, this was a decisive blow against Iran’s malign Quds Force activities worldwide.  Hope this is the first step to regime change in Tehran.”[1]

Bolton is not in the White House, but he is certainly smiling because he is witnessing that Trump is actually fulfilling Israel’s aspiration. The interesting thing is that back in 2011, Trump was all over the media attacking Obama and saying that Obama wanted to wage a useless war with Iran. Trump said then:

“Our president will start a war with Iran because he has absolutely no ability to negotiate – he’s weak and ineffective. So the only way he figures that he’s going to get re-elected, and as sure as you’re sitting there, is to start a war with Iran.”[2]

Back in 2012, Trump again declared: “Don’t let Obama play the Iran card in order to start a war in order to get elected – be careful Republicans!”[3] In 2013, Trump could not shut his mouth at all: “I predict that President Obama will at some point attack Iran in order to save face!”[4]

Obama had no intention of attacking Iran. In fact, he always clashed with the Israeli regime, the very entity which continues to send precious American soldiers to die in the Middle East. Obama was the first president in history to openly call Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “a chickenshit.”[5]

So now Trump is doing the very thing that he thought Obama was planning to do. So why did the Zionist States of America assassinate Qassem Soleimani? Well, they were trying to save “hundreds of American lives”[6]! Trump declared:

“General Qassem Soleimani has killed or badly wounded thousands of Americans over an extended period of time, and was plotting to kill many more…but got caught! He was directly and indirectly responsible for the death of millions of people, including the recent large number of PROTESTERS killed in Iran itself.”[7]

Can someone give Trump a copy of Harry G. Frankfurt’s On Bullshit? “One of the most salient features of our culture is that there is so much bullshit,” Frankfurt writes. “Everyone knows it.”[8]

Trump knows that he is a puppet of the Israeli regime and that he is trying to please his masters. He knows that no serious American would support another war in the Middle East. He knows that the war in Iraq will cost America at least six trillion dollars. But he has to obey the satanic powers in Israel. He has to provoke Iran in order for the United States to find an excuse for another war. In fact, as soon as the general was assassinated, Benjamin Netanyahu quickly moved to the political podium and declared that Trump has done a good job, for he has acted “swiftly, forcefully and decisively.

But both Israel and the United States may regret such a move because Russia, China, and France aren’t happy. Moreover, Trump’s diabolical activity provokes a massive reaction around the world, and it seems that Israeli officials and their puppets in the United States were not ready for that reaction.

Keep in mind that Iranian leaders have always sympathized with Americans, despite the fact that the Anglo-American establishment overthrew an Iranian democratically elected president by the name of Mohammad Mosaddegh in 1953.[9]

For example, right after the 9/11 attack, it was Iranian leaders themselves who offered to join forces with the US military in order to combat terrorism. The US, however, rejected the generous offer.[10]

Moreover, Iran, unlike America, has never been in the business of invading countries and destroying the moral and political fabric of those countries. We already know how catastrophic the war in Iraq was.[11]

So when Khamenei declares that America is “evil and wicked,” he is referring to the manifestation of a diabolical ideology that has come to wrap around arguably the entire planet.[12] He is in no way referring to the American people. Khamenei even today made it very clear that “death to America” has nothing to do with the average American but has everything to do with the Zionist ideology, which seeks to juice the entire planet. This policy was fleshed out in 1979,[13] and it is still relevant today. The Ayatollah Khomeini posited then:

“There is no crime America will not commit in order to maintain its political, economic, cultural, and military domination of those parts of the world where it predominates. It exploits the oppressed people of the world by means of the large-scale propaganda campaigns that are coordinated for it by international Zionism.

“By means of its hidden and treacherous agents, it sucks the blood of the defenseless people as if it alone, together with its satellites, had the right to live in this world. Iran has tried to sever all its relations with this Great Satan and it is for this reason that it now finds wars imposed upon it.”

“International Zionism” is an appropriate description of what was going on then. As I have already suggested, the United States and England had already overthrown a democratically elected president in Iran in 1953, and both countries were expanding aggressively in the Middle East to keep a diabolical empire alive and well.

The Ayatollah Khomeini made an attempt to solve the “international Zionism” problem by appealing to Muslim unity. But that again was another problem because countries like Saudi Arabia were already prostrating before “international Zionism.” As E. Michael Jones puts it,

“At the very moment he invoked Islamic unity, Khomeini was forced to concede that Islam was breaking up into two warring factions. The grand climactic battle of the anti-Communist crusade disguised this split for decades, but now, as intra-Islamic wars raged in Yemen and Iraq, Khomeini showed himself more of a prophet than a politician who could bring about Islamic unity. Either way, the Great Satan was exacerbating division as a means of achieving geo-political goals.”[14]

Khomeini obviously lit up a prophetic fire which again is still relevant today. “International Zionism” is still sucking the blood of virtually every nation on earth through covert activities, espionage, and deceptive means.[15] And by metaphysically rejecting the moral and political order and embracing chaos and destruction, international Zionism has essentially become Satanism.

This principle was articulated by St. Athanasius, who posited that any metaphysical idea which ontologically denies Logos and its central place in the universe will end up being Satanic. In a Satanic universe, what is true is actually a lie and what is a lie is by definition true. The Israeli regime and their puppets in the United States represent Satanism. Trump is one of their preachers. In short, an “active allegiance to Satan” is the political ideology of the United States, Saudi Arabia, and indeed Israel, specifically when it comes to dealing with important issues in the Middle East.

Khamenei added that as long as US foreign policy remains “evil and wicked,”[16] then Iran and its leaders will continue to chant death to those who are perpetuating ethnic cleaning virtually everywhere in the Middle East. The representatives of evil in the Middle East, says Khamenei, are none other than Donald Trump, John Bolton, and Pompeo.[17] Khamenei continued to say: “The US is the embodiment of evil, but still complains when you chant ‘Death to America.”[18]

The US is the embodiment of evil because politicians have embraced an essentially Talmudic principle which basically says that perpetual wars and ethnic cleansing in the Middle East and elsewhere are good for America, despite evidence to the contrary.

The Soleimani Assassination: The Long-Awaited Beginning of The End of America’s Imperial Ambitions

Risultati immagini per generale sulaymani

JANUARY 03 ,2020

The United States is now at war with Iran in a conflict that could easily have been avoided and it will not end well. There will be no declaration of war coming from either side, but the assassination of Iranian Quds Force Commander General Qassem Soleimani and the head of Kata’ib Hezbollah Abu Mehdi Muhandis by virtue of a Reaper drone strike in Baghdad will shift the long-simmering conflict between the two nations into high gear. Iran cannot let the killing of a senior military officer go unanswered even though it cannot directly confront the United States militarily. But there will be reprisals and Tehran’s suspected use of proxies to stage limited strikes will now be replaced by more damaging actions that can be directly attributed to the Iranian government. As Iran has significant resources locally, one can expect that the entire Persian Gulf region will be destabilized.

And there is also the terrorism card, which will come into play. Iran has an extensive diaspora throughout much of the Middle East and, as it has been threatened by Washington for many years, it has had a long time to prepare for a war to be fought largely in the shadows. No American diplomat, soldier or even tourists in the region should consider him or herself to be safe, quite the contrary. It will be an “open season” on Americans. The U.S. has already ordered a partial evacuation of the Baghdad Embassy and has advised all American citizens to leave the country immediately.

Donald Trump rode to victory in 2016 on a promise to end the useless wars in the Middle East, but he has now demonstrated very clearly that he is a liar. Instead of seeking detente, one of his first actions was to end the JCPOA nuclear agreement and re-introduce sanctions against Iran. In a sense, Iran has from the beginning been the exception to Trump’s no-new-war pledge, a position that might reasonably be directly attributed to his incestuous relationship with the American Jewish community and in particular derived from his pandering to the expressed needs of Israel’s belligerent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Trump bears full responsibility for what comes next. The neoconservatives and Israelis are predictably cheering the result, with Mark Dubowitz of the pro-Israel Foundation for Defense of Democracies enthusing that it is “bigger than bin Laden…a massive blow to the [Iranian] regime.” Dubowitz, whose credentials as an “Iran expert” are dubious at best, is at least somewhat right in this case. Qassem Suleimani is, to be sure, charismatic and also very popular in Iran. He is Iran’s most powerful military figure in the entire region, being the principal contact for proxies and allies in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq. But what Dubowitz does not understand is that no one in a military hierarchy is irreplaceable.  Suleimani’s aides and high officials in the intelligence ministry are certainly more than capable of picking up his mantle and continuing his policies.

In reality, the series of foolish attacks initiated by the United States over the past week will only hasten the departure of much of the U.S. military from the region. The Pentagon and White House have been insisting that Iran was behind an alleged Kata’ib Hezbollah attack on a U.S. installation that then triggered a strike by Washington on claimed militia targets in Syria and also inside Iraq. Even though the U.S. military presence is as a guest of the Iraqi government, Washington went ahead with its attack even after the Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi said “no.”

To justify its actions, Mark Esper, Secretary of Defense, went so far as to insist that “Iran is at war with the whole world,” a clear demonstration of just how ignorant the White House team actually is. The U.S. government characteristically has not provided any evidence demonstrating either Iranian or Kata’ib involvement in recent developments, but after the counter-strike killed 26 Iraqi soldiers, the mass demonstrations against the Embassy in Baghdad became inevitable. The demonstrations were also attributed to Iran by Washington even though the people in the street were undoubtedly Iraqis.

Now that the U.S. has also killed Suleimani and Muhandis in a drone strike at Baghdad Airport, clearly accomplished without the approval of the Iraqi government, it is inevitable that the prime minister will ask American forces to leave. That will in turn make the situation for the remaining U.S. troops in neighboring Syria untenable. And it will also force other Arab states in the region to rethink their hosting of U.S. soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen due to the law of unanticipated consequences as it is now clear that Washington has foolishly begun a war that serves no one’s interests.

The blood of the Americans, Iranians and Iraqis who will die in the next few weeks is clearly on Donald Trump’s hands as this war was never inevitable and served no U.S. national interest. It will surely turn out to be a debacle, as well as devastating for all parties involved. And it might well, on top of Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya, be the long-awaited beginning of the end of America’s imperial ambitions. Let us hope so!

Soleimani Assassination c25fe

JANUARY 03 ,2020

On February 12th 2008, Imad Mughniyeh, Hezbollah’s number two man, was assassinated in Syria. Two days later, reading the eulogy, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah addressed the Israelis, saying that since Mughniyeh was assassinated on foreign soil, then the previous rules of engagement were rendered obsolete “If it’s an open war you want, then so it shall be.”

Shia Muslims are a symbolic lot. They often draw symbols and meaning from their history and apply them to modern times. I am specifying Shia Muslims here because being in constant conflict for the past decades has taught them to rely heavily on their history of martyrdom in preserving their culture, ideals, and in fighting for what they believe in. Imam Hussein is by far the epitome of martyrdom and righteousness in Shia thought, and he and his companions were all martyred fighting oppression to preserve Islam.

Hezbollah’s former Secretary General, Sayyed Abbas Moussawi, was killed in a targeted Israeli airstrike, along with his wife and child, on February 16th 1992, and yet Hezbollah lived on; in fact it used his martyrdom to grow, as it did with Mughniyeh’s martyrdom.

In Iran, the story is the same. In fact, much of the fuel of the Islamic Revolution was from the demonstrations that took place during the funeral processions of martyrs from previous processions, and as more people fell, so would demonstrations increase.

These people are not afraid of dying. They are not afraid to stand up to oppression. The blood shed by others is what fuels them to stand up.

Truth be told, the best strategy the United States could have pursued against Iran was to do its best to avoid any direct confrontation, and focus on using social engineering, or prove its good will by stressing on negotiations. It would have had a much better chance at causing a rift between Iranians by doing so.

By assassinating Soleimani, however, they’ve killed one of their own, in a clear violation of all previous rules of engagement. For the first time since the revolution, the United States has told Iranians “we have attacked you, and we’re proud to have done it.”

For all intents and purposes, any talk inside Iran of negotiation with the U.S, or in choosing a more peaceful policy in the region is now over. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, has vowed vengeance for this attack, and it will be very bitter.

His efforts & path won’t be stopped by his martyrdom, by God’s Power, rather a #SevereRevenge awaits the criminals who have stained their hands with his & the other martyrs’ blood last night. Martyr Soleimani is an Intl figure of Resistance & all such people will seek revenge.  (Link)

Just as the rules of engagement were changed when Mughniyah was assassinated, the same has happened here. Mughniyah was assassinated on foreign soil, which meant that Israeli targets around the world were now legitimate targets.

Soleimani was no ordinary individual. He was the most popular public figure in Iran, responsible for Iran’s and the Axis of Resistance’s operations abroad. The Axis of Resistance owes its standing and development today, in large part, to his efforts, and millions around the Middle East owe him their freedom from ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and Israel.

People are understandably mourning now. But soon they will turn to anger. Qasem Soleimani and Abou Mahdi al-Mohandes (Deputy Chief of al-Hashd who was killed alongside him) were not just public figures, they were adored by many. It is highly unlikely that this assassination would blow over by assassinating military officials in the Middle East.

By assassinating them, not only has the U.S simply changed the rules of engagement or fired the first shot, effectively giving Iran the right to retaliate and avenge this injustice. It has rendered its entire presence in the Middle East vulnerable. It has definitively united Iranians against it, rendered its presence in Iraq the target of Hashd al-Shaabi retaliation, and down the line made Israel in a more vulnerable position than ever.

Khamenei has for the first time chosen to preside the Supreme National Security Council’s session to discuss the retaliation, which will be well-calculated, and very painful.

By killing Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the United States has committed acts of war against Iran and Iraq, and violated Iraqi sovereignty, and the Iraqi marja’iyyah, whose fatwa caused the formation of the Popular Mobilization Forces, has declared the act to be a crime, and Muqtada al-Sadr, who for years had stood on the sidelines, gave his forces the order to be ready. Do not expect people who support the Resistance in the Middle East to falter. If anything, history shows that they’ll grow from this.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei speaks to IRGC Quds Force commander Gen. Qassem Soleimani in this file photo.
0 3 JANUARY 2020

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says those who assassinated IRGC Quds Force Commander Major General Qassem Soleimani must await a harsh revenge.

In a statement on Friday, Ayatollah Khamenei said the “cruelest people on earth” assassinated the “honorable” commander who “courageously fought for years against the evils and bandits of the world.”

His demise will not stop his mission, but the criminals who have the blood of General Soleimani and other martyrs of the Thursday night attack on their hands must await a harsh revenge, the Leader added.

“Martyr Soleimani is an international figure of the Resistance, and all the devotees of Resistance are now his avengers,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

“All the friends and foes must know that the path of Jihad of the Resistance will continue with double motivation, and a definite victory awaits those who fight in this auspicious path,” the Leader said.

“The demise of our selfless and dear general is bitter, but the continued fight and achievement of the final victory will make life bitterer for the murderers and criminals,” he added.

In his statement, the Leader also offered condolences to the Iranian nation and General Soleimani’s family, and declared three days of national mourning.

What follows is the full text of the Leader’s statement:

In the Name of God

Dear nation of Iran!

The great and honorable commander of Islam became heavenly. Last night, the untainted souls of the martyrs embraced the pure soul of Qassem Soleimani. After years of sincere and courageous fight against the devils and evil-doers of the world and after years of wishing for martyrdom in the path of God, alas, dear Soleimani attained this lofty position and his pure blood was spilled by the vilest of human beings.

I congratulate Hazrat Baqiyatullah- may our souls be sacrificed for him- and his [Soleimani’s] own pure soul on this great martyrdom and I express my condolences to the Iranian nation.

He was a stellar example of those educated and nurtured in Islam and the school of Imam Khomeini (RA). He spent his entire life fighting in the path of God.

Martyrdom was his reward for years of implacable efforts. With his departure and with God’s power, his work and path will not cease and harsh revenge awaits those criminals who have tainted their filthy hands with his blood and the blood of the other martyrs of last night’s incident.

Martyr Soleimani is the international face of the resistance, and all who have a heart-felt connection to the resistance seek revenge for his blood.

All friends – and also all foes – should know that the path of fight and resistance continues with increased motivation and certain victory awaits the fighters on this blessed path.

The absence of our dear and self-sacrificing commander is bitter, but the continuation of the resistance and its final victory will be bitterer for the murderers and criminals.

The Iranian nation will cherish the name and memory of the towering martyr, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, together with his fellow martyrs especially the great fighter of Islam the honorable Mr. Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis. I declare three days of public mourning in the country and I congratulate and express my condolences to his honorable wife, dear children and family.

Later in the day, the IRGC spokesman General Ramezan Sharif warned that the US’ “momentary pleasure” after assassinating General Soleimani will be short-lived, and will soon turn into lamentation.

He also said the IRGC is going to open a new chapter from now on and the front of resistance is going to set out a new starting point.

‘Iran more determined now’

Following the Leader’s remarks, President Hassan Rouhani strongly condemned the attack, and said the US assassination will make Iran and other free nations more determined to stand against Washington.

“The martyrdom of the great commander of Islam and Iran, and the courageous commander of the Quds Force, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, along with some of his companions especially the great fighter Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, by the aggressive and criminal US broke the heart of the entire nation of Iran and regional nations,” President Rouhani said in a Friday statement.

The assassination “doubled the determination of the great nation of Iran and other free nations to stand against and resist the excessive demands of the US and to defend the Islamic values,” he added.

“There is no doubt that this cowardly and evil move is another sign of the US’ desperation, inability and failure in the region, and the hatred felt by the regional nations toward this criminal regime,” Rouhani noted.

“The great nation of Iran and other free nations of the region will take revenge for this heinous crime against the criminal US,” he warned.

Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami also vowed that revenge will be taken against all those behind the assassination.

“Undoubtedly, this heinous crime which is a strong proof of the evil nature of the Big Satan, the arrogant US and it’s all-out support for terrorism in the region and Iraq, will be responded to in a crushing way,” the defense minister warned.

Earlier, former commander of the IRGC Major General Mohsen Rezaei also vowed a harsh revenge against the perpetrators.

Details of the attack

Speaking to Iran’s state TV, the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad Iraj Masjedi explained that the US’ missile attacks hit two cars transferring General Soleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and 10 companions and bodyguards from Baghdad Airport to the city at 1 am (local time).

According to Masjedi, all the passengers have been killed, and arrangements are being made for their return to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Major General Qassem Soleimani, whose assassination by the US was confirmed earlier on Friday, had played a major role in defending Iran against its enemies and assisting regional countries fight foreign occupation and terrorism.

Soleimani, born in 1957, started his military career by joining the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) following the victory of the Islamic revolution in 1979.

During the imposed Iraqi war on Iran, which was launched in 1980 and lasted for eight years, Soleimani gradually became known as an adept commander, leading Iranian troops in numerous battles against invading Ba’ath regime forces.

Later appointed as the chief of the IRGC’s expeditionary Quds Force, Soleimani gradually became a forefront figure in Iran’s push to assist regional states and allies counter foreign-backed interventions in the region.

As foreign-backed Takfiri outfits reared their heads in recent years, the IRGC commander emerged as a key strategist and ingenious commander leading Iranian military advisers assisting Syrian and Iraqi troops in battles against terrorists.

The general was frequently pictured on the frontlines during anti-terrorism operations from Iraq’s Mosul to Syria’s Aleppo.

In Iraq, at the height of Daesh’s terror campaign, he assisted the Baghdad government in operations to retake the strategic oil-rich city of Tikrit from Daesh in 2015.

In January 2015, the head of Iraq’s Badr Organization credited Tehran and Soleimani with saving Baghdad when Daesh first unleashed its campaign of terror in the neighboring country a year earlier.

The general also took personal command of the battle against Takfiri militants in the Syrian city of Bukamal, located in Dayr al-Zawr Province, in November 2017.

In November 2017, Soleimani declared the end of Daesh’s territorial rule in a letter addressed to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Earlier this year, the Leader awarded Soleimani with Iran’s highest military order, the Order of Zulfaqar.

Hailed both by the enemies and foes as a major military tactician, General Soleimani topped Foreign Policy (FP)’s 2019 list of Global Thinkers in defense and security.

Several reports emerged about assassination plots against the commander by the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia– which are believed to be among the major supporters of Takfiri terrorists wreaking havoc on the Middle East.

On Thursday, however, the Trump administration openly claimed responsibility for assassinating Soleimani.

In a statement on Friday, Iran’s leader vowed “harsh revenge” for the perpetrators of the attack.

The Leader also offered condolences to the Iranian nation and General Soleimani’s family, and declared three days of national mourning.

Washington’s Fingerprints All Over Iranian Protests

NOV 20 2019
TEHRAN/WASHINGTON, D.C. – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has once again made remarks in support of riots in Iran, interfering in the country’s domestic affairs in support of, not people’s right of protest, but riots by saboteurs.
Turning a blind eye to the escalating radical violent crimes in a number of cities that seriously trample the rule of law, Pompeo retweeted on Saturday a previous message sent to the Iranian people in July 2018, reminding them, “The United States is with you”.
Pompeo had sent a message last year saying, “The United States hears you. The United States supports you. The United States is with you”. In his November 16 tweet, Pompeo said, “As I said to the people of Iran almost a year and a half ago: The United States is with you.”

After the Iranian government announced it is raising fuel prices early on November 15, many people across Iran began pouring into streets in spontaneous protests, which continued the following day. Till Friday evening, protests were not confronted by the police.

But arson and sabotage attacks suddenly started, including armed attacks on police stations and military bases, prompting the law enforcement to take action in order to stop the saboteurs who have raided dozens of banks and gas stations among others.

In a number of cities, rioters have been launching attacks by beating, smashing, looting and setting fires. They attack police officers and civilians, besiege and intercept the central authorities’ agencies in small towns, deface the national emblem and insult the national flag, and even commit arson.

A series of such acts are far beyond the scope of peaceful protests and “free speech” claimed by Pompeo. No country under the rule of law will tolerate such acts, with France being the latest example. The Iranian government brings violent protesters to justice in accordance with the law, which exactly demonstrates that the country safeguards the rule of law.

Silent on the violent crimes, the US blamed Iranian law enforcement’s actions which exercise restraint, saying it hoped that the fuel hike issue could be resolved in a way that is nonviolent. Why were there no politicians from Western countries calling for “nonviolent” solutions when the US and European countries were involved in violent conflicts with protesters including the “Occupy Wall Street” movement in the US, the “Yellow Vest” movement in France and the riots in London? When it comes to Iran, politicians such as Pompeo have “suddenly” changed their attitudes. This is a clear double standard.

Some Western media have also changed their tune by reporting the violent crimes in Iran using words like “ugly.” In fact, trained rioters are demonizing the police and the government with rumors and instigating hatred towards the police through US and UK-based opposition media and some social media platforms. Pompeo’s remarks exactly prove what he has done as the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, as he said: “We lie, we cheat, we steal.”

Israel sends powerful message as they destroy entire Syrian air defense storage

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:40 A.M.) – Israel launched a powerful attack over the southern and southwestern regions of Damascus last night.

Among the sites targeted by the Israeli Air Force last night was an entire air defense storage that belonged to the Syrian military, a source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News.

According to the source, the Israeli Air Force fired a couple of missiles at the air defense storage in the town of Kesweh, resulting in a massive blast that could be heard from the capital city.

In addition to the attack on the air defense storage, the Israeli Air Force also targeted a number of sites belonging to the Syrian military in the nearby Beit Saber area of southern Damascus.

A source from the Syrian military said that the Israeli Air Force launched 18 air-to-surface missiles towards southern and southwestern Damascus, with at least 11 managing to hit their intended targets.

The source added that the Israeli Air Force launched these strikes from the southern border of Lebanon near the town of Marjeyoun.

Some casualties have been reported, but the total number of killed and wounded has not been confirmed by the military.

This morning’s attack by the Israeli military is considered the most powerful attack launched by their air force in two months.

Israeli Air Force launches heavy attack on southern Damascus: full report

2019 11 20

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 A.M.) – The Israeli Air Force unleashed a new attack over the southern region of Damascus this morning, causing a number of explosions in the process.

According to the Syrian military, they activated their air defenses this morning when the Israeli Air Force fired several air-to-surface missiles towards the southern part of Damascus.

The military said the Israeli Air Force launched at least 18 missiles from the Marjeyoun area near the southern border of Lebanon, with eleven of these projectiles hitting their intended targeted in the Beit Saber area of southern Damascus.

They would add that these missiles were launched in two separate attacks by the Israeli Air Force this morning.

The total number of casualties have not been confirmed by the Syrian military thus far; however, they did say that the missiles caused heavy damage to the targeted sites.

This morning’s attack by the Israeli Air Force was carried out less than 24 hours after the IDF and Syrian military traded rocket attacks along the border of the occupied Golan Heights.

Israel confirms attack on Syria, vows to continue ‘operating firmly’ inside the country

2019 11 20

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Wednesday morning that its jets pounded Syrian territory, attacking dozens of military targets belonging to the Iranian and Syrian forces.

According to the IDF, the targets included air-to-air missiles, warehouses and various military facilities.

The IDF said in the statement that the air raid came in response to earlier rocket launches allegedly made by Syrian forces from Syrian territory that targeted Israeli territory.

The IDF blamed “Syrian regime” for the attacks, vowing to continue “operating firmly and for as long as necessary against the Iranian entrenchment in Syria.”

Early on Wednesday morning, Syria state-run broadcaster Al-Ikhbariya said that the nation’s air defense systems had repelled an air assault on Damascus and its suburbs, adding that several missiles were downed south of Damascus.

Syrian state-run news agency SANA clarified that missiles were fired by Israeli jets from the occupied Golan Heights and Marjeyoun in southern Lebanon, adding that the air defenses were able to destroy most of the missiles before they reached their targets.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on the most recent Israeli attack on Syria.

“I clarified that whoever is hurting us – we will be harmed in it. This is what we did tonight against military targets of Iranian Quds force and Syrian military targets in Syria after last night’s rocket launches were launched at Israel”, Netanyahu said, cited by Channel 13 TV News-Israel.

Tel Aviv has repeatedly conducted airstrikes in Syria without permission from Damascus, justifying its actions by a need to counter allegations of Iran’s military presence in the neighboring country.

Israel and Syria share borders along the occupied Golan Heights. The area has been mostly under the control of Tel Aviv after Israel seized the area during the 1967 Six-Day War, adopting a law in 1981 that annexed the territory, although it was rejected by the United Nations. Earlier this year, US President Donald Trump recognized the Golan Heights as Israeli territory.
